We had a parent/teacher conference today. The kids weren’t happy when we left again without them.

Big Butt

Agnes @ August 11, 2008, 4:00 pm -- [Eleanor and Miranda are 3 year & 9 days old]

The other night, Eleanor wanted me to sit next to her on the stairs. She left me a tiny space and I tried to squeeze in, but couldn’t. She then said, “Mommy you’re too big. You have a big pi-gu.” “Pi-gu” means “butt” in Chinese. Thanks, Eleanor.

The Moon is Moving

Bernard @ August 9, 2008, 11:27 am -- [Eleanor and Miranda are 3 year & 7 days old]

Last night as we were driving, Eleanor noticed the moon. After watching it for a while, she declared that the moon was moving. Miranda told her it was because the car was moving. Then, when we arrived at our destination, Eleanor said the moon stopped moving. Miranda said it was because the car had stopped. I was so impressed Miranda figured out what was going on.

Baby Smash!

Bernard @ August 6, 2008, 12:49 pm -- [Eleanor and Miranda are 3 year & 4 days old]

I was reading a blog about programming and came across an application that someone built called “Baby Smash!”. It covers the screen, and locks out most of your common Windows key sequences, and instead shows colorful letters and shapes as you pound on the keyboard. I think it’s meant to prevent little ones from doing bad things on the computer as they play with the keyboard, and I think it’s based on a Mac program called AlphaBaby

The other day, Eleanor and Miranda almost sent an email to one of my clients, so this may be worth trying out at home.

Between cake and gifts, the kids didn’t sleep until 10:30pm. Today we’re going to the OC Fair. Eleanor says she doesn’t want to see hippos.

Today Miranda asked me if I liked High School Musical. Scary.
